Winter Wonderland...

New York/ Central Park
x
x
JUST LOOKED UP AT MY TV SCREEN, and noticed a message trailing by...that Mayor Bloomberg would interrupt any program to bring us the latest news about the blizzard that hit New York City.
x
I can do that right now, bring you the latest. In fact I'd be glad to take the job of Accurate Weather Reporter, selfishly supplanting the frenzied "Weatherpersons", finally given their moment in the Sun/ Storm. And I can do it without leaving home. Because, as I stated on a much earlier post, all I have to do is switch my TV to Channel 999, and I instantly can snoop within the confines of my lobby, and the big glass door leading to the street. So here I go..are you with me?
x
Colorful. Indoor plants looking very lush, very tropical. Sidewalk outside thoroughly shoveled. Passerby leading small dog..nice doggy coat, red, I think. Doorman inside, leaning against desk in entryway. Think it's Luis, can't tell, hat pulled low. I'll check when I go out later. Oh yes, I will go out. I intend to walk to Central Park, because I know that for the next 24 hours it will look like the perfect White Christmas. Then the reality bubble will burst and grime will take over, making the city into a very grey, mushy porridge.
x
The front door seems to be sparkling, somehow flashing light. Aha, that's the reflection of the large Christmas tree, standing opulently in the lobby itself. Every year, just about the same time as the Macy's Parade, our tree is taken out of some secret storage, and placed front and center. Tenants can stop by to help decorate. Seeing the process become "our" tree, is the official beginning of the Holiday season. That and the Hanukkah lights alongside do it for me.
x
Switching channels now..getting ready to check out in person, the reality of the lobby, and the Winter Wonderland outside!

Entering...

Wassily Kandinsky 1886-1944
x
x
WHEN I DIE AND RUSH ALONG THE TUNNEL OF WHITE LIGHTS, BEING NEITHER HERE NOR THERE YET, I know that I will enter into a Kandinsky landscape. I'm the last person to advance mathematical theory, but I see before me, clear as day, Einstein's very large number, c2, the very square of the speed of light. You remember, E=mc2.
x
For Kandinsky, art and music gave rise to each other. Color is art's pitch and volume, and a low note on a cello is deep blue. Relativity will make sense when I enter that space between. After my life, before my heaven, I christen that waiting place, "the space between".
x
Kandinsky left me a road map. I saw it this morning as I paid a very early visit to the Guggenheim Museum, membership invitation. Having the place almost to myself allowed me to observe the portals of eternity. Great big eyes, circles of vibrancy and but also hues befitting Morpheus. I awakened to the possibilities, as Kandinsky must have, after seeing Monet's, "Haystacks". Imagine that at the age of thirty he began artistic studies! If it hadn't been for Monet, would it have happened?
x
Kandinsky believed his passion to create would awaken the same desire in the viewer, because the artist and observer were equal. If the artist's creativity was pure enough, that would bring out a similar response in the viewer. Therefore I took up his invitation this morning. I peered through portals and found some enticing, some karmically prohibiting. A big eye, stared into, seemed to bring me closer to heaven. And a tiny clock stood still. When I really get to "the space between", I will have to piece it all together, next job after Earth. But not yet. Right now I'm just emerging from a museum.
x
But I do think this: Creating Art is the same as starting a Universe.

Hello, I Must Be Going...

When I first started Blogging, on Dec. 8, 2008, yes, a year ago today, I really didn't have a clue about what I wanted to accomplish. I think I wanted to make a good impression. The acceptance thing, I guess.
x
I supposed my blog was going to be an exploration. Many times I didn't really know what direction I was going in. How happy I was to read your blogs, be in touch with your amazing talents. I found my inspiration through you.
x
You all sharpened my perception and connected me to your skills and wisdom. You helped me to lessen my attachment to my own ego. This experience fits in very well with my Buddha quest, yet what doesn't? By connecting me to your basic kindness, you have constantly awakened my true heart. Your encouragement is my teacher.
x
Yet I've gotten to a place where I know I can't fully participate. I have to pull back, because like most of you, I sometimes find myself involved with too much of this and that.
x
I will try to maintain at least a post a week, probably do the Choclat Sin thing...and, hmmm, poetry...or..or...or...more!
x
I have great affection for you ...want so much to have that fantasy party where I get to sit and chat ( like Jeane/ARTIT, and I were able to do) and thank the blogosphere for providing a very interesting way to make friends.
x
Of course I'll be reading your blogs..I know that I will be amused, enlightened, enriched, as always!! I'll be back....THANK YOU.

Apis Mellifera

HONEY BEE
X
I would give up a day of my life
to go where the bee goes.
To sip the nectar of milk thistle,
hear the sigh of petals stirring
as the cluster welcomes me
to sink within its pollen.
x
I need to taste the virgin wine
but daylight dims.
x
The approaching night
and a mockingbird plan my demise.
x
My wings risk the gamble
as I powder myself in clouds of dust
to fly, to fly...
x
I hear the Queen singing,
come back Apis Mellifera,
don't bend to the assassin.
x
And I race away enraptured
to set my gift before the throne.

CHOCLAT SIN..#7

WINE AND CHOCOLATE? HEAVEN...
X
Some say the chocolate, whether a chunk, a truffle, or a souffle', shouldn't be sweeter than the wine, that there should be a sensuous tug of war, but ultimately a balance and that the darker the chocolate, the more likely you will want to pair it with red wine. A bite, a swirl of the glass, a sip. If the chocolate seems to emerge from a dark tunnel, the wine should go deep too. Don't stop to smell the roses, stop to sniff the wine.
x
Zinfandel, which is at times like a dessert itself, is a good choice for your sweet tooth, for chocolate. Sweet dreams. How about a Chocolate Cheese Cake with a Sparkling Rose'? Or a sliver of Chocolate Pecan Pie with a Tawny Port. Leave room for seconds. And think about this for a moment...Chocolate Souffle' with raspberries, sauce or whole, and your favorite Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc.
x
A bit of something luscious is necessary every once in a while. Then we will have no regrets....
just a good memory to take to Heaven!
