MAGPIE...Prompt #153

                                                    Charlotte Gainsborg, AnOther

THANK YOU, Tess, for Magpie Tales...

OLD MUSIC

I'm thinking of my green self,
of slipping into that yellow tee,
jeans sitting low,
dancing with everyone
but mostly alone.

Of tasting a coke
and licking the lemon.

Of spinning out across the floor
at the Sea Turtle Bar,
my glass slippers
kicked into the blink
of a purple strobe,

bare feet tingling as I levitate
to the Velvet Underground,
a downbeat away from The Dead.
